Easy Biryani - Sri Lankan Style

For the Rice:

Vegetable or Ghee oil 100 ml

Onions, sliced 200 g

Garlic, chopped 20 g

Ginger, chopped 10 g

Curry leaves 5 g

Rampe 5 g

Green chilies, sliced 25 g

Cinnamon Stick 5 g

Basmati rice, soaked in water for 20 minutes and drain 1 kg

Water 1600 ml
Garnish and Serving:

For the Garnish:

Coriander leaves, coarsely chopped 30 g

Onions, sliced and fried to golden 500 g

Tomatoes, cubed 400 g
Preparation

Rice Preparation:
- Heat the oil in a thick bottom pan or in a rice cooker.
- Add onions, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, rampe, green chilies, cinnamon and sauté till fragrant.
- Add rice, Knorr Chicken Seasoning Powder, Knorr Biriyani Mix, water and allow to cook well.

Garnish and Serving:
- Finally sprinkle chopped coriander, tomatoes and fried onions; stir softly and serve hot.
- Serve with your choice of fried or grilled chicken.
